நீர்நிலைகளைத் தூர்வாருதல் – பராமரிப்புப் பணிகளை மேற்கொள்ளுதல் என்பது நீர்மேலாண்மையில் முக்கியமானது. தற்போது கூட நமது அரசின் சார்பில் 2,473 ஏரிகள், 344 அணைக்கட்டுகள், 4,879 கி.மீ வரத்துக் கால்வாய்கள், கால்வாய்கள் / ஆறுகளில் புனரமைப்பு பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன.
நீர்நிலைப் பகுதிகளில் குப்பைகள் மற்றும் கழிவுகளைக் கொட்டுவதைப் பொதுமக்கள் தவிர்த்திட வேண்டும். நமது இளைஞர்களும் – தன்னார்வலர்களும் – சூழலியல் அமைப்புகளும் @being_nimal போன்று தத்தமது பகுதிகளில் உள்ள நீர்நிலைகளைச் சீரமைத்திட வேண்டும்!
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended young ecological activist Nimal for his exemplary civic dedication in desilting and rejuvenating community lakes across the state. Stalin lauded the environmentalist as an inspiring role model for youth, demonstrating that proactive civic responsibility can safeguard vital natural ecosystems. He emphasized that regular desilting, clearing supply channels, and maintaining bunds constitute the indispensable foundation of scientific water resource management across Tamil Nadu.
Detailing governmental achievements in water conservation, the Chief Minister revealed that his administration has executed extensive restoration works across 2,473 lakes, 344 check dams, and 4,879 kilometers of feeding canals and rivers statewide. These coordinated hydraulic interventions have significantly enhanced groundwater recharge, expanded agricultural irrigation capacities, and mitigated urban monsoon flood risks. Stalin appealed to citizens to cease dumping solid waste and effluents into natural watercourses, urging community cooperation in environmental preservation.
Stalin called upon student volunteers, youth organizations, and environmental non-governmental groups to replicate grassroots water restoration initiatives in their respective localities. He affirmed that the Tamil Nadu government will continue partnering with civic volunteers to safeguard the state's precious water heritage.
