Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid tribute to veteran political leader and parliamentarian P.K. Mookiah Thevar on the eve of his 103rd birth anniversary, announcing that the state government will construct a grand memorial hall in Usilampatti. Stalin recalled that DMK founder C.N. Annadurai praised Mookiah Thevar as an uncompromising champion of justice who never bowed to political pressure. He noted that Mookiah Thevar administered the solemn oath of office to M. Karunanidhi and legislators when the DMK first assumed power in 1967.

The Chief Minister highlighted Mookiah Thevar's close association with Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar and his pioneering contributions to expanding rural educational access across the southern districts. By establishing schools and collegiate institutions, Mookiah Thevar enabled thousands of students from marginalized agricultural communities to achieve educational empowerment. Stalin stated that constructing a memorial hall in Usilampatti will ensure that future generations draw inspiration from his selfless public service, integrity, and fearless advocacy for backward classes.

Stalin affirmed that his government consistently honors historical leaders who dedicated their lives to social emancipation and communal harmony. He reiterated that preserving the memory of regional stalwarts strengthens Tamil Nadu's collective self-respect and cultural heritage.
