Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed delegates at the 24th Party Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) held in Madurai, underscoring the deep ideological kinship between the Dravidian and Communist movements. Stalin highlighted that both historic traditions originated from a common philosophical dedication to human equality, social liberation, and the advancement of working-class people. He extended warm congratulations to senior leaders, including Prakash Karat, Pinarayi Vijayan, and Madurai MP Su. Venkatesan, for successfully organizing the national conference.
Speaking at a seminar on federalism as India's true strength, the Chief Minister presented rigorous arguments in defense of state legislative and fiscal rights. He warned that increasing central authoritarianism poses a direct threat to parliamentary democracy and regional pluralism across the republic. Stalin urged democratic, socialist, and regional forces to build a cohesive national front to dismantle majoritarian overreach, stressing that grassroots cooperation between Dravidian and communist cadres is vital for political renewal.
Stalin concluded by asserting that Tamil Nadu and Kerala will stand shoulder-to-shoulder in resisting central encroachments on state domains. He called for sustained nationwide struggles to protect constitutional federalism, linguistic diversity, and secular democracy.
