Standing on Tamil soil, the Prime Minister must give a clear guarantee : "Tamil Nadu and other states that have successfully controlled population growth will not be penalised in the impending delimitation exercise. Their share of parliamentary seats in percentage terms will remain untouched."
Hon'ble PM @NarendraModi should make this promise publicly, allay the fears in the minds of the people of Tamil Nadu, and follow it up with a constitutional amendment in Parliament. This is the only way to ensure a #FairDelimitation. I sincerely hope he will act.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his official visit to Tamil Nadu, to issue an unambiguous public guarantee that southern states will not face political disenfranchisement under the upcoming parliamentary delimitation. Stalin argued that states which diligently and effectively implemented national population control programs must not see their percentage share of Lok Sabha seats reduced. He insisted that the Prime Minister must commit to introducing a constitutional amendment protecting existing regional seat proportions.
The Chief Minister emphasized that penalizing southern states for exemplary human development, family planning, and maternal healthcare violates the basic compact of Indian federalism. He noted that reallocating legislative seats purely on current population numbers would punish high-performing states and reward regions that lagged in demographic stabilization. Stalin warned that creating an acute political imbalance between northern and southern regions poses a severe hazard to national cohesion and democratic stability.
Stalin called upon the Union government to demonstrate genuine federal commitment by legislating constitutional protections before undertaking any delimitation exercise. He affirmed that Tamil Nadu will vigorously lead all affected states in defending equitable parliamentary representation.
