Addressing a public gathering during a welfare distribution event in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a direct political challenge to Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Stalin criticized the AIADMK general secretary for repeatedly seeking an electoral alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party while openly admitting an absence of ideological principles. He questioned whether the opposition leader possessed the political courage to make statutory NEET exemption an absolute prerequisite before entering into any alliance with the central ruling party.
The Chief Minister asserted that the opposition leadership has consistently prioritized personal political expediency over the educational aspirations of rural Tamil youth. He pointed out that while the DMK administration has fought relentlessly in the state legislature and the Supreme Court against the exclusionary entrance exam, the opposition surrendered state rights during its previous tenure. Stalin noted that electors expect accountable leadership that defends state interests rather than subservient political arrangements that compromise student futures.
Stalin affirmed that the public recognizes the stark contrast between principled Dravidian governance and unprincipled electoral coalitions. He expressed confidence that electors will hold opposition leaders accountable for their political compromises in forthcoming assembly elections.
