Marking Equality Day in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the newly renovated M.C. Rajah hostel building, catering to Adi Dravidar and Tribal students pursuing higher education in the state capital. Stalin simultaneously dedicated 1,000 newly constructed permanent houses for tribal families and distributed comprehensive welfare assistance packages to 49,542 beneficiaries. The extensive welfare drive reflected the Dravidian Model government's resolve to empower historically marginalized communities through tangible assets and academic infrastructure.

The Chief Minister outlined his administration's targeted initiatives for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, highlighting funding allocations for overseas higher education scholarships, entrepreneurial training programs, and stringent enforcement of civil rights protections. He stated that providing comfortable, modern hostel accommodation ensures that underprivileged students migrating from rural districts can focus entirely on collegiate studies. Stalin noted that educational access combined with secure housing forms the indispensable foundation for eliminating generational poverty.
