Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the state conference on traders' demands, announcing decisive policy measures to promote commercial growth and protect mercantile welfare under the Dravidian Model governance framework. Responding sympathetically to long-standing representations from commercial associations, Stalin assured attendees that the government will fulfill their appeal to officially designate May 5 as Traders Day across Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that small and medium retail enterprises form the economic backbone of local commerce and urban employment.
In his keynote address, Stalin highlighted progressive administrative reforms introduced to simplify commercial licensing, prevent harassment from regulatory bodies, and ensure institutional credit access for retail traders. Concurrently, the Chief Minister made a heartfelt appeal to the business fraternity, requesting merchants across the state to prominently display business signboards in refined Tamil. He noted that linguistic pride and economic vitality should harmoniously reinforce each other in public spaces.
Stalin reiterated his administration's determination to support entrepreneurial initiatives through responsive policy interventions. He urged commercial federations to partner closely with the state government to foster inclusive economic prosperity while actively upholding proud linguistic heritage across Tamil Nadu.
