Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with seven leading commercial banks to provide comprehensive life and accidental insurance coverage entirely free of cost to state government employees. Tamil Nadu is the first state in India to introduce such an expansive zero-premium insurance framework for its public workforce. Fulfilling commitments announced in the legislative assembly, the administration also concluded institutional arrangements offering concessional interest rates on personal loans, higher education borrowings, and housing finance for government servants.
At the same administrative event, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for vital security and administrative infrastructure projects. These include a modern central prison complex and dedicated warder residential quarters at Bilichi on the outskirts of Coimbatore, sanctioned at 211.57 crore rupees. Stalin additionally initiated construction of modern police housing colonies across Chennai and Pollachi, representing an aggregate capital investment of 457.14 crore rupees.
Stalin affirmed that employee welfare and modern public infrastructure remain twin pillars of efficient state administration. He reiterated his government's resolve to support dedicated public servants who implement welfare policies across Tamil Nadu.
