During the #NITIAayog meeting, met our Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi and submitted a memorandum detailing key priorities for Tamil Nadu’s development and social justice:

We hope the Hon’ble Prime Minister will consider these proposals with due urgency, in the true spirit of cooperative federalism.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting in New Delhi, submitting a detailed memorandum on urgent infrastructure projects and social justice priorities. Stalin urged central sanction for the proposed Coimbatore and Madurai Metro Rail corridors, alongside the procedural transfer of Chennai's Mass Rapid Transit System to Chennai Metro Rail Limited for seamless operational integration. He sought the highway expansion of National Highway 32 between Chengalpattu and Tindivanam and airport runway extensions in Coimbatore and Madurai.
In the healthcare and educational sectors, the Chief Minister demanded the sanction of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences campus in Coimbatore and immediate disbursement of pending Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan school grants. On social justice matters, Stalin advocated nomenclature corrections for specific Scheduled communities and the constitutional inclusion of Scheduled Caste-converted Christians. He also called for urgent diplomatic intervention to safeguard Tamil Nadu fishermen and secure the immediate release of detained boats.
Stalin urged the Prime Minister to approve these demands swiftly in the true spirit of cooperative federalism, ensuring equitable national backing for Tamil Nadu's ongoing development.
