The Indian Constitution mandates that #delimitation must follow the first Census after 2026. The BJP has now delayed the Census to 2027, making their plan clear to reduce Tamil Nadu’s Parliamentary representation.
I had warned about this. It is now unfolding. By siding with the BJP, Palaniswami is not just silent but complicit in this betrayal. It's now clear that he has surrendered to Delhi’s domination.
The people of Tamil Nadu are united as one in their demand for a Fair Delimitation. We need clear answers from the Union Government.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin raised a vehement protest against the Union government decision to postpone the national census to 2027, warning that the move is directly linked to an unfair delimitation exercise aimed at eroding Tamil Nadus parliamentary representation. Pointing out that the Indian Constitution mandates delimitation based on the first census conducted after 2026, Stalin highlighted that delaying the exercise until 2027 is a calculated strategy to redraw electoral boundaries to the political benefit of the ruling Union party while marginalizing progressive southern states.
Stalin also criticized AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami for maintaining a subservient silence regarding this existential federal crisis, asserting that the opposition party has surrendered to Delhis political authority. By failing to challenge policies that penalize Tamil Nadu for decades of successful family planning, healthcare improvement, and population stabilization, the opposition acts as an active accomplice in the states disenfranchisement. The Chief Minister declared that the citizens of Tamil Nadu stand united in demanding a fair delimitation framework that preserves regional political influence.
Stalin demanded transparent answers and constitutional assurances from the Union government. He affirmed that the DMK will spearhead mass resistance to defend Tamil Nadus federal rights.
