Our #DravidianModel government's goal is not merely a #TrillionDollarEconomy but a green, sustainable one that future generations can thrive in.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin marked World Environment Day by initiating major ecological conservation projects and honoring environmental champions across the state. In Chennai, Stalin laid the foundation stone for the advanced Research and Development Center of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board in Guindy, aimed at pioneering scientific pollution abatement and green technologies. To address marine plastic pollution along the coastline, the Chief Minister opened specialized discarded fishing net collection centers across fourteen coastal districts, preventing hazardous ghost netting from damaging marine ecosystems.
Stalin also dedicated the newly established Greater Flamingo Bird Sanctuary at Dhanushkodi in Ramanathapuram district, protecting vital shallow wetland habitats that support thousands of migratory wetland species each winter. During the commemorative ceremony, the Chief Minister conferred prestigious state environmental conservation awards upon grassroots activists, non-governmental organizations, and industrial units that demonstrated exemplary sustainability practices. He affirmed that economic development must proceed hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Dravidian Model governance framework aims not merely to build a one trillion dollar economy, but to create a green, climate-resilient future where coming generations can flourish sustainably.
