Enhancing civic amenities across the state capital, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commissioned 50 automated purified drinking water dispensing units installed at strategic public locations throughout Chennai. Stalin pointed out that ensuring universal access to clean, safe, and hygienic drinking water constitutes a fundamental public health necessity, especially for working-class citizens, street vendors, and daily commuters who navigate the city's busy transit points and market areas every day.
The modern water dispensing machines incorporate advanced reverse osmosis filtration and ultraviolet purification technology, delivering high-quality drinking water completely free of cost to the public around the clock. The Chief Minister highlighted that localized water dispensing centers relieve low-income families from the economic burden of purchasing commercial bottled water, while promoting public health by curbing waterborne diseases. The civic administration has deployed automated monitoring sensors to ensure continuous water quality and uninterrupted supply.
Stalin affirmed that creating healthy, inclusive urban habitats remains a core priority of the Dravidian Model governance. He stated that the municipal administration will steadily expand free purified water dispensing stations across additional high-density neighborhoods and transit hubs throughout Chennai.
