#WorldRefugeeDay

Commemorating World Refugee Day, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin emphasized that statelessness and forced displacement are the tragic tragic consequences of destructive and brutal armed conflicts that extinguish human lives and shatter peaceful communities. Stalin earnestly called on global society to embrace displaced refugees with profound empathy, kindness, and human fellowship, affirming that providing safe asylum and legal protection constitutes an essential moral imperative for all civilized societies.
Highlighting Tamil Nadu's progressive leadership in refugee care, the Chief Minister recalled that the Dravidian Model government officially eliminated the term refugee camp, renaming them rehabilitation camps to honor the intrinsic human dignity of displaced Sri Lankan Tamil brethren. The state administration has substantially upgraded housing, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, and monthly welfare allowances across these settlements, while providing free higher education and skill training opportunities to camp youth to build secure, independent livelihoods.
Stalin concluded that humanity must actively eliminate war and protect universal human dignity. He pledged that Tamil Nadu will steadfastly safeguard the fundamental rights and socio-economic welfare of all displaced persons seeking dignified shelter and protection in the state.
