Let us remember and revere Thiru. #VPSingh, the sentinel of #SocialJustice, who dared to raise its radiant light against the entrenched darkness of caste tyranny across Indian soil. His legacy is our mandate. Remember this, young minds: to twist the history of resistance is to invite servitude once again.

Commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid glowing tributes to the legendary leader who earned the revered title Sentinel of Social Justice by implementing the historic Mandal Commission recommendations. Stalin stated that V.P. Singh bravely held aloft the radiant torch of affirmative action against entrenched caste hierarchies across the Indian subcontinent, sacrificing his political office to secure educational and administrative rights for Other Backward Classes.
The Chief Minister stressed that V.P. Singh's emancipatory legacy forms the ideological mandate of the Dravidian movement, which fought relentlessly alongside him to expand reservation benefits nationwide. Stalin cautioned young citizens that reactionary forces persistently attempt to distort the history of social justice struggles, warning that forgetting past resistance opens the door to renewed subjugation. He urged younger generations to study the arduous battles fought by social justice pioneers to defend constitutional equality and secular democracy.
Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu will never permit the hard-won rights of backward classes to be eroded. He pledged that the state will perpetually champion V.P. Singh's egalitarian principles across the country.
