Expressing profound grief and indignation over the tragic custodial demise of a youth in Tiruppuvanam, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin declared that such unconscionable atrocities have no place in a civilized society and cannot be justified under any circumstances. Stalin affirmed that law enforcement personnel who commit criminal excesses and breach their sacred constitutional duty will face stringent legal prosecution and deterrent punishment under the full extent of the law.
The Chief Minister assured the bereaved family that the Tamil Nadu government stands firmly in solidarity with them during their unbearable bereavement, pledging comprehensive legal, financial, and emotional support. He emphasized that the Dravidian Model administration enforces a zero-tolerance policy against police excess and abuse of authority, demanding absolute accountability across all police stations. Stalin instructed supervisory officers to take prompt, uncompromising disciplinary action whenever custodial infractions occur, ensuring that no misconduct is covered up.
Stalin concluded that protecting citizen dignity and guaranteeing safety in police custody remain non-negotiable governance imperatives. He reiterated that his administration will persistently reform procedural standards to ensure that every individual is treated with respect and institutional fairness across Tamil Nadu.
