Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reiterated his government's steadfast commitment to achieving zero school dropouts and securing a 100 percent Gross Enrolment Ratio across primary, secondary, and higher educational institutions. Highlighting the core principles of the Dravidian Model governance, Stalin emphasized that universal access to education constitutes the fundamental engine of social justice, upward mobility, and collective state prosperity. He pointed out that every child in Tamil Nadu deserves unhindered access to high-quality classroom learning regardless of their socio-economic origins.
The state administration has implemented pioneering initiatives, including targeted financial assistance, free breakfast distribution in government primary schools, and advanced digital classrooms, to retain students in the formal education system. These targeted welfare programs directly relieve financial pressures on working-class households, thereby eliminating economic barriers that historically forced children to abandon schooling early. By tracking attendance meticulously and offering continuous mentoring, the education department actively identifies at-risk students before they disengage from their studies.
Stalin affirmed that universal education remains the most potent tool to dismantle generational poverty and social inequity throughout the state. He pledged that Tamil Nadu will continuously expand public investment in schools and colleges until complete enrolment is achieved.
