Commemorating the birth anniversary of pioneering anti-caste crusader and Dravida Mani Rettamalai Srinivasan, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid glowing tributes to the legendary leader who demonstrated how acquiring modern education can dismantle oppressive social degradations and secure fundamental human rights. Stalin praised Rettamalai Srinivasan's historic contributions to Dalit emancipation, recalling his courageous advocacy alongside Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the historic London Round Table Conferences to demand constitutional safeguards for depressed classes.
The Chief Minister recalled that his Dravidian Model government commemorated Rettamalai Srinivasan's enduring legacy by inaugurating a grand memorial hall featuring his bronze statue in his native Chengalpattu district during the previous year. Stalin declared that honoring anti-caste pioneers is not merely an act of ceremonial respect, but an ideological commitment to preserve the emancipatory flame of equality and self-respect that Srinivasan ignited over a century ago. He emphasized that educational empowerment remains the primary vehicle for social liberation and community advancement.
Stalin concluded that Tamil Nadu will never permit the rights won by emancipators like Rettamalai Srinivasan to be undermined. He pledged continued state protection for marginalized communities across generations.
