On #WorldPopulationDay, a reminder for the Union Government:

✅ Tamil Nadu leads in population control ✅ Empowers women with dignity ✅ Delivers healthcare and education for all ✅ Champions sustainable development

And yet, what do we get in return?

Fewer seats. Less funding. A voice that’s being pushed out of Parliament.

Why? Because Tamil Nadu did the right thing. And that threatens Delhi.

What’s worse — Thiru. Palaniswami and his party are standing with Delhi, not with Tamil Nadu. They’re backing Unfair Delimitation that punishes us for our progress.

But let me be clear: Tamil Nadu will not bow. We rise together — this is Orani vs Delhi Ani.

Editorial context

Marking World Population Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a stern message to the Union government, highlighting Tamil Nadu's stellar achievements in family welfare, female empowerment, universal healthcare, and sustainable development. Stalin pointed out the profound injustice of proposed parliamentary delimitation exercises, wherein progressive southern states that diligently implemented national population policies face political marginalization through reduced parliamentary representation and diminished fiscal devolution.

The Chief Minister criticized the central regime for effectively penalizing governance excellence, warning that skewing political power in favor of states that lagged in population stabilization undermines federal democracy and national unity. Stalin also condemned AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami for supporting New Delhi's centralizing policies rather than standing up for state rights. Framing the ideological contest as Orani versus Delhi Ani, Stalin urged the people of Tamil Nadu to unite under the Oraniyil Tamil Nadu movement to safeguard their land, language, and democratic self-respect.

Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu will never bow to coercive political centralization. He concluded that defending equitable parliamentary representation remains essential for preserving true federalism and constitutional democracy across India.
