அவரது தலைநகரான கங்கை கொண்ட சோழபுரத்தில் சோழப் பேரரசின் வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புகளையும் கடல் கடந்த வணிகத் தொடர்புகளையும் பறைசாற்றும் விதமாக அருங்காட்சியகம் அமைக்கப்படும் என அறிவித்து, அதற்கும் கடந்த ஜனவரி மாதம் அடிக்கல் நாட்டினேன். காண்போரைக் கவர்ந்திடும் வண்ணம் அது எழுந்து வருகிறது.

Commemorating the birth anniversary of Emperor Rajendra Chola on Aadi Thiruvathirai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced comprehensive water resource rejuvenation and eco-tourism development initiatives for the historic Cholagangam lake in Ariyalur district. Stalin recalled that his administration issued historic orders in 2021 declaring the imperial ruler's birth anniversary an annual state celebration, honoring the legendary monarch celebrated across Asia as Gangai Kondan and Kadaram Kondan for his epochal naval expeditions and statecraft.
The Chief Minister highlighted that construction is progressing swiftly on the international museum at Gangaikonda Cholapuram, for which he laid the foundation stone in January to chronicle the Chola dynasty's maritime trade networks and architectural achievements. Stalin explained that restoring the ancient Solagangam reservoir, originally engineered by Rajendra Chola as a liquid victory pillar, will revive regional irrigation networks while creating world-class amenities for domestic and international heritage travelers.
Stalin emphasized that honoring Chola maritime history celebrates Tamil civilization's global trade reach and administrative sophistication. He pledged that the Dravidian Model government will continually conserve historical monuments, blending archaeological pride with sustainable regional water management and green tourism infrastructure.
