Announcing the statewide operational commencement of the extensive Nalam Kaakkum Stalin public healthcare initiative, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin revealed that 1,256 specialized medical screening camps will be established across all districts every Saturday. Stalin formally scheduled the state-level launch for August 2 in Chennai, urging all elected legislators, local body representatives, and community leaders to actively participate and facilitate widespread citizen participation in these preventive clinical camps to maximize healthcare outreach among vulnerable populations.
The Chief Minister detailed that the camps will deliver high-quality clinical diagnostic assessments entirely free of cost, covering comprehensive blood profiles, electrocardiograms (ECG), digital chest X-rays, ultrasonography (USG), and specialized clinical screenings for early detection of breast and cervical cancers. Stalin highlighted that diagnostic laboratory findings will be communicated directly to citizens via authenticated SMS text alerts, while each beneficiary will receive an individualized medical folder documenting their clinical results to enable continuous healthcare management.
Stalin affirmed that protecting household health is an inescapable governmental responsibility under the Dravidian Model. He concluded that decentralized diagnostic camps ensure timely medical interventions and prevent impoverishing illness-induced household expenditures.
