Praising the historic legacy of social welfare in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed party cadres through an inspirational letter, announcing that the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme will expand on August 26 to encompass urban state-aided primary schools. Stalin detailed that this landmark expansion will extend free, wholesome daily morning meals to a cumulative total of 20,59,000 primary school children, ensuring universal nutritional support across both government and state-aided elementary institutions throughout Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister highlighted the historical continuum of student nutrition in Tamil Nadu, tracing its evolution from the pioneering mid-day meal resolution enacted by the Justice Party in 1920 to the contemporary interventions of the Dravidian Model administration. Stalin declared that providing wholesome morning food addresses not merely physical hunger, but serves as vital societal nourishment that fuels intellectual curiosity and academic aspirations.
Stalin affirmed that eliminating nutritional disparities among schoolchildren has directly boosted classroom concentration, reduced absenteeism, and supported marginalized families. He concluded that Tamil Nadu's nation-leading welfare programs will persistently uplift youth, driving uninterrupted social advancement and academic success across every corner of the state.
