Fulfilling long-standing infrastructural and civic aspirations in his legislative constituency of Kolathur in Chennai, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated several modern public welfare amenities designed to enhance community life, promote athletic development, and modernize urban transit. Stalin dedicated a fully equipped mini-stadium catering to neighborhood youth athletes, an exclusive fitness gymnasium tailored for women's wellness, and 162 modern multi-storey residential apartments constructed at Raja Thottam to provide secure permanent housing for urban impoverished families.
Expanding civic transit infrastructure, the Chief Minister formally opened two major modern bus terminus facilities constructed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) at Thiru Vi Ka Nagar and Periyar Nagar. Concurrently, Stalin flagged off 248 newly procured modern passenger buses for the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), expanding zero-fare transit routes under the landmark Vidiyal Payanam scheme.
Stalin emphasized that the comprehensive modernization of Kolathur reflects his administration's broader commitment to decentralized urban development and equitable civic services. He concluded that integrating dignified social housing, neighborhood sporting arenas, and accessible zero-fare public transportation substantially improves the daily living standards of working-class families across the metropolitan area.
