Editorial context

During his official visit to Germany, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited the renowned Tamil Department Library at the University of Cologne, which houses an invaluable repository of over forty thousand rare Tamil books, first editions, and classical palm-leaf manuscripts. Stalin recalled that when the historic Cologne Tamil department—Europe's foremost center for classical Tamil studies—faced imminent closure due to financial constraints, his Dravidian Model government immediately intervened upon assuming office, sanctioning 1.25 crore rupees to preserve this crucial intellectual institution.

Interacting with faculty researchers Dr. Sven Wortmann, Sharon Nathan, and Daria Lambrecht, the Chief Minister expressed deep joy at witnessing their scholarly passion for Tamil philology, classical grammar, and historical literature. Stalin noted that the state's timely financial contribution successfully secured the department's academic continuity and safeguarded centuries of rare Dravidian manuscripts.

Stalin observed that witnessing Cologne's academic preservation efforts provided profound inspiration for his administration's ongoing initiatives to establish monumental modern public libraries in Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli, following iconic centers established in Chennai and Madurai. He affirmed that preserving classical Tamil linguistic heritage remains a core governmental commitment across the world.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
