Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited Highgate Cemetery in London to pay solemn red salutes at the memorial of revolutionary thinker and philosopher Karl Marx, quoting Marx's celebrated thesis that philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways, but the point is to change it. Stalin described Marx as a radiant red sun whose intellectual brilliance and revolutionary philosophy illuminated the path of liberation for the global working class against capitalist exploitation and systemic inequality.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Marx's profound analysis of material conditions, labor rights, and structural oppression has inspired progressive socio-political movements worldwide for generations. Stalin observed that the Dravidian movement in Tamil Nadu has always maintained deep ideological affinities with socialist and working-class ideals, championing social dignity, universal education, fair wages, and robust state-provided social security nets for underprivileged laborers and agrarian workers.
Stalin concluded that honoring Karl Marx reinforces the ethical obligation of democratic governments to prioritize human welfare above unbridled corporate wealth. He reaffirmed that his administration will continue enacting progressive labor policies, defending workers' democratic rights, and reducing socio-economic disparities across Tamil Nadu.
