Hon’ble PM Thiru @narendramodi , despite increased paddy coverage, Tamil Nadu has received only 57 percent of its allocated fertilizers.
I request your urgent intervention to supply the shortfall and to allot additional quantities for September to avoid disruption to farmers, ensuring that the momentum of a good monsoon is not lost.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed an urgent formal appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting immediate central intervention to resolve a critical shortage of chemical fertilizers impacting agricultural operations across the state. Stalin pointed out that while timely monsoon showers enabled Tamil Nadu farmers to substantially increase their paddy cultivation acreage compared to previous seasons, manufacturers have supplied only fifty-seven percent of the state's officially allocated fertilizer quota.
The Chief Minister stressed that inadequate supplies of essential fertilizers, particularly urea and complex nutrients, threaten to disrupt ongoing cultivation cycles and derail agricultural productivity at a crucial growth juncture. Stalin requested the Prime Minister to instruct the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers to immediately dispatch the remaining backlog and sanction supplementary fertilizer allotments for the current month.
Stalin emphasized that state agricultural departments have prepared distribution channels to ensure fertilizers reach agrarian cultivators without delay. He concluded that prompt central cooperation is essential to ensure hardworking farmers capitalize fully on favorable monsoon conditions, safeguard regional food grain output, and maintain the economic vitality of Tamil Nadu's rural agrarian economy.
