Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi now says Indians will save Rs. 2.5 lakh crore through #GST reform and #IncomeTax relief. But this is exactly what the Opposition has been demanding from the very beginning. If these measures had been taken eight years ago, families across the country would already have saved many lakh crores more.
Moreover, it is our duty to point out that 50% of this relief has been actually borne by the State Governments, a fact which the Union has failed to acknowledge as well as appreciate. On the contrary, the Union BJP Government is denying funds that rightfully belong to the States. Tamil Nadu is being denied #SamagraShiksha funds only because we refuse to accept #HindiImposition. When will this injustice end?
India cannot grow by punishing States that defend their rights and stand for their people. Respect federalism, release the funds, and let the people benefit from what is rightfully theirs!

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assertion that recent Goods and Services Tax rationalizations and income tax slab revisions will save Indian households two point five lakh crore rupees. Stalin pointed out that opposition parties had persistently demanded these exact taxation relief measures over eight years ago, which would have spared working families immense financial strain had the Union government acted without prolonged delay.
Crucially, Stalin emphasized that fifty percent of the revenue loss resulting from these tax reductions is borne directly by state government exchequers, a fiscal contribution that the Union government consistently conceals and fails to acknowledge. Concurrently, he condemned the Union administration for unlawfully withholding legitimate Samagra Shiksha educational funds rightfully belonging to Tamil Nadu simply because the state refuses to accept coercive Hindi imposition.
The Chief Minister asserted that national economic progress cannot be attained by penalizing state administrations that defend their constitutional prerogatives and stand firmly for their people. Stalin demanded that the Union government respect genuine federalism, release withheld educational grants immediately, and ensure citizens receive the developmental benefits to which they are constitutionally entitled.
