Chief Minister M.K. Stalin highlighted the ongoing modernization of public recreational infrastructure executed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, showcasing newly developed community parks and sporting grounds across the Chennai metropolitan area. Stalin shared video footage demonstrating the transformed public spaces, noting that providing accessible, green recreational spaces is vital to improving urban livability and enhancing the overall aesthetic character of the metropolis.

The CMDA initiative has developed well-equipped athletic grounds featuring outdoor fitness equipment, synthetic walking tracks, floodlit multipurpose courts, and safe play zones for children across previously neglected urban tracts. Stalin observed that creating decentralized public sporting arenas encourages physical activity, promotes community health, and offers local youth professional environments to develop their sporting talents within their own neighborhoods.

The Chief Minister affirmed that his administration views planned green spaces not merely as aesthetic enhancements, but as essential environmental assets that mitigate urban heat island effects and foster civic cohesion. Stalin concluded that the state government will continue expanding park networks and recreational facilities across Chennai, ensuring sustainable urban development that balances commercial modernization with healthy public community living.
