Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened a high-level administrative review meeting in Chennai with key cabinet ministers, senior civil supplies bureaucrats, and the District Collectors of five Cauvery delta districts to review ongoing paddy procurement and agricultural storage operations. Attended by Agriculture Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam, Food Minister R. Sakkarapani, and Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa, the conference focused on safeguarding this season's bumper paddy harvest across the state's agrarian heartland.
Stalin emphasized that the hard work of delta farmers in achieving record grain yields must be met with seamless logistical support from state purchasing agencies. He instructed district collectors and the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation to ensure that all Direct Procurement Centres operate with adequate moisture-measuring devices, electronic weighing scales, tarpaulin coverings, and modern storage capacities to prevent any grain deterioration from unseasonal rainfall.
The Chief Minister directed officials to streamline digital grain receipts and ensure swift electronic bank transfers directly into farmers' accounts without administrative delays. Stalin affirmed that protecting agrarian produce until it reaches public distribution networks represents an inviolable commitment of the Dravidian Model administration, ensuring sustained food security and equitable prosperity for the farming community.
