Chief Minister M.K. Stalin released a video address commemorating the centenary of the Self-Respect Movement, calling upon the people of Tamil Nadu and party cadres to decisively defeat reactionary political forces working to dismantle the state's progressive social fabric. Stalin declared that the Dravidian movement has built a society grounded in human dignity, rationalism, and gender equality through a century of relentless ideological struggle.
Warning against divisive political elements attempting to subvert the state's autonomy and cultural heritage, Stalin stressed that Tamil Nadu will never bow before authoritarian diktats or regressive caste ideologies. He reminded cadres that the Self-Respect movement founded by Thanthai Periyar dismantled centuries of feudal subjection and established the bedrock of social justice upon which modern Tamil Nadu prospers today.
The Chief Minister urged party workers to take an unyielding pledge to safeguard the state's self-respect and democratic achievements from external hostility and opportunistic political alliances. Reaffirming the rallying cry that Tamil Nadu will resist and triumph, Stalin concluded that the ideological clarity of the Self-Respect movement guarantees the enduring victory of Dravidian egalitarian politics over religious extremism and social reaction.
