Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid homage to freedom fighter and social reformer Immanuel Sekaran on his birth anniversary, honoring his historic struggle for the dignity, self-respect, and civil emancipation of oppressed communities across Tamil Nadu. Stalin recalled that Sekaran dedicated his entire life to dismantling caste hierarchies and establishing equal constitutional rights for marginalized citizens throughout the southern districts.
Marking his birth centenary, the Dravidian Model government had previously declared Sekaran's birth anniversary an official state celebration, conducting statewide commemorative events with full administrative honors. Stalin highlighted that the state administration's commitment to construct a grand memorial with a bronze statue at Paramakudi has entered its final phase, with all civil works scheduled for formal completion by the end of the month.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the enduring legacy of Immanuel Sekaran continues to guide the state's governance framework of 'everything for everyone'. He emphasized that true social justice requires both statutory protections and public acknowledgment of grassroots civil rights struggles. Stalin reiterated that honoring pioneering emancipators remains central to sustaining the ideological fight and administrative policy against social discrimination and inequality across generations.
