Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended Dr. Rajasekaran of Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore and the civic organization 'Uyir' for their sustained public advocacy promoting road safety and accident prevention. Emphasizing that road safety is directly linked to the preservation of human life, Stalin lauded the initiative for raising widespread grassroots awareness regarding defensive driving, seatbelt usage, and helmet compliance among motorists across western districts.
Stalin called upon citizens across Tamil Nadu to pledge strict adherence to traffic regulations, observing that reckless driving and traffic violations lead to preventable tragedies that devastate families. He urged motorists to treat statutory traffic guidelines not as mere legal obligations, but as essential civic duties that ensure shared safety across public roadways.
Highlighting the state government's multi-pronged approach toward highway safety, Stalin noted that administrative authorities are actively coordinating engineering upgrades, installing warning signage, and improving trauma response systems. He stressed that official regulations must be matched by responsible civic behavior to eliminate traffic fatalities. The Chief Minister concluded that widespread public awareness campaigns led by medical practitioners and civil society groups play an indispensable role in safeguarding commuters and pedestrians.
