Chief Minister M.K. Stalin carried out a diverse series of administrative engagements in Chennai, leading ground-level flood preparedness inspections and inaugurating departmental initiatives. Stalin visited the mouth of the Adyar River where it enters the sea, reviewing the progress of dredging and widening operations. He instructed municipal and water resources engineers to expedite desilting activities to ensure free stormwater drainage and prevent localized flooding during upcoming monsoon downpours.
During the day's events, the Chief Minister formally released 'A Sun from the South,' the English translation of 'Therkkilirundhu Oru Sooriyan,' a comprehensive biographical volume chronicling the life, literary genius, and political leadership of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Stalin noted that translating the work makes Kalaignar's multifaceted contributions to Indian federalism and social justice accessible to a national and global audience.
Demonstrating ongoing investments in state healthcare delivery, Stalin flagged off a newly procured fleet of official vehicles dedicated for officers of the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. He affirmed that equipping field medical surveillance teams with modern transportation significantly enhances epidemiological monitoring and community health response across all districts.
