பஹ்ரைனில் நடைபெற்ற ஆசிய இளையோர் விளையாட்டுப் போட்டியில் தங்கம் வென்ற நம் கபடி வீரர்கள் கண்ணகி நகர் கார்த்திகா மற்றும் திருவாரூரைச் சேர்ந்த அபினேஷ் மோகன்தாஸ் ஆகியோர் சென்னை திரும்பியதும், நேராக எனது இல்லத்துக்கு அழைத்துப் பாராட்டி, இருவருக்கும் தலா 25 லட்ச ரூபாய் உயரிய ஊக்கத்தொகை வழங்கினேன்.
கண்ணகி நகருக்கு நான் சென்றபோதெல்லாம் அங்கு வசிக்கும் மக்கள் என்னிடம் வைத்த கோரிக்கைகளை எல்லாம் நிறைவேற்றித் தர உத்தரவிட்டிருந்ததை நினைவுகூர்ந்து, "உங்க ஏரியாவில் இப்ப பிரச்சினைகள் தீர்ந்திருக்கா?" என்று கார்த்திகாவிடம் கேட்டேன். கடந்த 4 ஆண்டுகளில் பெருமளவில் கண்ணகி நகர் முன்னேறியிருப்பதாகப் புன்னகையோடு சொன்னார்.
கார்த்திகா அவர்களும் அபினேஷ் அவர்களும் மேலும் சில உதவிகளையும் என்னிடம் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அவற்றையும் நிறைவேற்றித் தருவோம்.
நேற்று நான் #BisonKaalamaadan-இல் கண்ட மணத்தி கணேசன் தொடங்கி, இன்று அபினேஷ், கார்த்திகா வரை எளிய பின்புலங்களில் இருந்து சாதிக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு வீரரின் வெற்றியிலும் சமூகநீதி மண்ணான தமிழ்நாடு பெருமை கொள்கிறது.

Stalin warmly welcomed Asian Youth Games 2025 kabaddi gold medalists Karthika from Kannagi Nagar and Abinesh Mohandas from Tiruvarur at his official residence in Chennai, presenting each champion with a high cash incentive of 25 lakh rupees. Stalin congratulated the young athletes for bringing international laurels to India and scripting sports history through exceptional dedication and teamwork in Bahrain.
During the interaction, Stalin recalled his earlier administrative inspections at Kannagi Nagar and inquired whether local civic infrastructure issues had been fully redressed. The athlete cheerfully confirmed that the resettlement neighborhood has witnessed extensive urban improvements over the past four years under the current government. The Chief Minister assured both sportspersons that their additional requests for sports equipment, higher training facilities, and employment opportunities will be resolved swiftly by the state administration.
Stalin emphasized that the spectacular rise of players from working-class and marginalized backgrounds embodies the foundational ethos of Tamil Nadu's social justice model. He reaffirmed that sustained state encouragement, accessible sports infrastructure, and substantial monetary rewards will continue democratizing athletic excellence for youth across all socio-economic strata.
