Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district on Thevar Jayanthi to pay solemn homage to freedom fighter and revered social leader Pasumpon U. Muthuramalinga Thevar. Stalin garlanded the leader's statue and offered floral respects at the memorial shrine, commemorating his heroic role in fighting oppressive colonial laws and his trusted camaraderie with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose during India's national independence struggle.
Continuing his commemorative tour in Madurai, the Chief Minister garlanded the statues of the historic freedom fighters Marudhu Pandiyar brothers at the Teppakulam monument, recognizing their seminal anti-colonial resistance. Highlighting the administration's deep commitment to rural public welfare and community development, Stalin announced that the state government will construct a grand public marriage hall in Pasumpon to serve local families.
Stalin observed that honoring selfless leaders who dedicated their lives to liberating oppressed communities from tyrannical colonial statutes forms a cornerstone of Dravidian governance. He reaffirmed that his administration remains devoted to preserving historical memorials, fostering communal harmony across southern districts, and delivering equitable development infrastructure that directly fulfills the social aspirations of rural citizens.
