Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued an urgent directive to DMK functionaries and grassroots cadre, warning that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise poses a direct threat to the voting rights of crores of Tamil Nadu citizens. Stalin described the situation as critical, instructing party workers to act as vigilant eyes and arms on the ground to defend the electorate's democratic franchise from arbitrary erasure.
Stalin emphasized that voter list manipulation subverts popular democracy before elections even begin, pointing to disturbing revision irregularities reported in other states. He instructed booth-level agents to conduct thorough door-to-door audits, cross-checking draft rolls against physical voter households and promptly filing statutory claims for omitted voters before official deadlines expire.
Highlighting the historic responsibility resting on party workers, the Chief Minister declared that safeguarding the ballot is an essential political struggle for social justice and regional autonomy. He affirmed that the DMK will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that every eligible citizen in Tamil Nadu retains their constitutional right to vote, vowing to thwart any calculated disenfranchisement through disciplined vigilance.
He called upon cadre to protect the democratic franchise through diligent grassroots auditing.
