Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the 'Women Wellness on Wheels' mobile healthcare scheme, marking India's first dedicated doorstep medical screening initiative focused entirely on women's preventive health. Launching the project in Kanchipuram, Stalin urged all women to utilize the advanced mobile diagnostic units, which offer free screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, diabetes, hypertension, anemia, and cardiovascular conditions.
Stalin explained that the pilot rollout in Kanchipuram will incorporate feedback from participating women before expanding across every district in January. He pointed out that early detection of cervical and breast malignancies dramatically improves recovery rates, preventing preventable tragedies and safeguarding family well-being. By taking sophisticated diagnostic technology directly to rural neighborhoods, the program eliminates travel costs and clinic waiting barriers for working women.
Asserting that women's welfare constitutes the foundation of community wellness, the Chief Minister declared that Tamil Nadu's proactive preventive health model will serve as a national benchmark. He commended health officials for executing the innovative mobile outreach, reiterating his government's resolve to build an inclusive healthcare system that protects every citizen regardless of income or geography.
He urged every family to prioritize women's preventive health.
