Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened a high-level review meeting with district collectors, revenue authorities, and emergency service heads to evaluate monsoon preparedness across coastal and vulnerable districts of Tamil Nadu. Stalin assessed water levels in major reservoirs, desilting progress in storm water drains, and the readiness of relief shelters, instructing field officials to maintain round-the-clock surveillance throughout the rainfall period.
Directing municipal corporations and police personnel to work in seamless coordination, the Chief Minister ordered the pre-positioning of rescue boats, heavy-duty dewatering pumps, and emergency medical supplies in flood-prone zones. He emphasized that minimizing public disruption, preventing water stagnation on arterial roads, and protecting human and animal life must remain the administrative apparatus's paramount objectives.
Stalin personally reviewed food storage, clean drinking water distribution arrangements, and backup generator systems in all government hospitals. Reassuring citizens that state disaster management teams are fully mobilized, the Chief Minister urged the public to heed official advisories, affirming that proactive planning, rapid emergency response, and compassionate public assistance define his government's disaster mitigation approach across every town and village.
He assured citizens that state emergency machinery remains vigilant to handle any adverse weather contingencies.
