Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a powerful ideological statement affirming that social justice and affirmative action remain the foundational pillars of Tamil Nadu's political architecture. Invoking the enduring philosophies of Thanthai Periyar, C.N. Annadurai, and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Stalin asserted that reservation policies are not acts of state charity, but fundamental democratic rights designed to dismantle caste-based inequalities.
Stalin highlighted how successive Dravidian administrations transformed Tamil Nadu into India's most socially inclusive state through statutory reservations in education, public employment, and welfare entitlements. He cautioned against reactionary attempts to dilute affirmative action mechanisms, warning that social hierarchies cannot be eradicated without deliberate institutional safeguards for backward, scheduled, and minority communities.
The Chief Minister pledged that his government will fiercely resist any central or judicial encroachment upon state reservation rights. He called upon rationalist thinkers, youth, and civil society to remain vigilant in protecting hard-won social gains, declaring that the journey toward complete social equality demands uncompromising political determination, continuous education, and collective ideological solidarity across all progressive communities.
