Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the opening of the Kovai Semmozhi Poonga, a park dedicated to classical Tamil language and heritage, located in Coimbatore. In his announcement, Stalin said the project fulfilled a promise made by his father, former Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, describing him as the party's leader and founding figure. Stalin noted that he personally laid the foundation stone for the park and that it has now been completed and opened to the public within the promised timeframe. The park is themed around Tamil's classical language heritage, since 'semmozhi' refers to Tamil's status as a classical language. While the tweet does not specify further details such as cost, size, or exact opening date, it frames the project as part of the DMK government's broader commitment to promoting and preserving the Tamil language and culture, continuing initiatives associated with the Dravidian movement's founding leaders.
