Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reopened Victoria Public Hall in Chennai following its restoration, describing the venue as a historic landmark associated with the founding of the Justice Party, considered a precursor to the Dravidian movement, as well as the city's first film screening and speeches by national leaders. Stalin said the restoration preserved the hall's original architectural character while giving it a new lease of life, and noted that an exhibition reviving memories of Chennai's history was also displayed at the venue. Separately, at the same event, Stalin laid the foundation stone for a new council hall for the Greater Chennai Corporation, to be built within the historic Ripon Building complex. The tweet combines heritage restoration with a new civic infrastructure announcement for the city's municipal administration.
