At the NDTV Tamil Nadu Summit, M.K. Stalin argued that India's development story should be told starting from Tamil Nadu, citing achievements of what he calls the Dravidian Model, and accused the Union BJP government of routinely betraying Tamil Nadu while staying silent on the state's demands. He predicted the BJP-led NDA alliance would be rejected by Tamil Nadu.

At the #NDTVTNSummit, I once again placed before the nation the just questions of Tamil Nadu. Drawing on the achievements of the #DravidianModel, I explained why not only India’s history, but also its journey of development, must be written beginning with Tamil Nadu. Yet the Union BJP government, for whom betraying Tamil Nadu has become routine, continues to remain silent.

This so-called NDA, stitched together by threatening the corrupt and running them through the BJP’s political washing machine, will be rejected by Tamil Nadu. The sun will continue to shine in the South.

Editorial context

Speaking at the NDTV Tamil Nadu Summit, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said he once again placed before the nation what he called the 'just questions' of Tamil Nadu. Drawing on what he termed the achievements of the Dravidian Model -- his government's development approach -- Stalin argued that not just India's history but its development journey ought to be narrated starting from Tamil Nadu. He accused the Union BJP government of having made betraying Tamil Nadu 'routine' while remaining silent on the state's concerns. Stalin was sharply critical of the National Democratic Alliance, describing it as having been 'stitched together' by pressuring corrupt politicians through what he called the BJP's 'political washing machine,' and predicted the alliance would be rejected by voters in Tamil Nadu. He closed by asserting that 'the sun will continue to shine in the South,' a reference to continued Dravidian-model governance in southern India.
