In a letter addressed to party cadres, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged members to work tirelessly in the path of Perarignar Anna (C.N. Annadurai), the party's founder, and to reach out directly to the people, declaring the party's determination to win firmly in the 2026 election ('Kalam 2026'). As a mark of that commitment, Stalin asked cadres to join a peace rally toward Anna Square the following day, marking Anna's remembrance day, and to pay tribute by garlanding his portrait and offering flowers at DMK branch offices across the state. He also called on members to recommit as a pledge to the five major slogans given by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi (Kalaignar), framing this as preparation for the party's election campaign field work ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly election.
