M.K. Stalin accused the Union Government of denying Tamil Nadu its due railway projects in the Union Budget and then blaming the state for resulting delays. He said he had written to the Prime Minister clarifying that land acquisition for the projects is largely complete, and urged the Centre to release pending funds and approvals to revive stalled works.

Fiction cannot replace facts.

The Union Government denies Tamil Nadu its due railway projects in the Budget and then shifts blame onto the State for delays.

I have written to Hon’ble PM placing the facts on record: land acquisition is largely complete, while delays persist due to pending fund releases and approvals from the Railways.

I have urged prompt action to revive stalled projects and strengthen rail infrastructure for the mutual benefit of the State and the Nation.

Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin criticised the Union Government for what he called neglecting the state's railway projects in the Union Budget while shifting blame for delays onto the state government. In the post, Stalin said he had written to the Prime Minister to place the facts on record, stating that land acquisition for the railway projects in question is largely complete, and that the actual cause of delay is the pending release of funds and approvals from the Railways at the Centre. He urged the Prime Minister to intervene promptly to revive the stalled projects and to strengthen railway infrastructure in Tamil Nadu, framing this as beneficial to both the state and the nation. The tweet is part of an ongoing series of disputes between the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government and the Union Government over the allocation of railway and infrastructure funding to the state.
