M.K. Stalin, DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, announced that a set of candidates from the DMK-led alliance had filed their nomination papers for election to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament. The candidates named include DMK's Thiruchi Siva and Professor Constantine Ravindran, Indian National Congress's Christopher Thilak, and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi's (VCK) L.K. Sudheesh. Stalin framed the nominations within the alliance's broader electoral success narrative in Tamil Nadu, and pledged that the alliance's representatives would continue to serve as a voice safeguarding India's constitutional values, unity, and pluralism in the Rajya Sabha. The tweet is procedural in nature, documenting the formal step of nomination filing for Rajya Sabha seats by alliance-affiliated candidates ahead of their election to the upper house.
