Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a new statue on Chennai's Marina Beach titled 'Katranaithu Thurum Arivuchi Silai,' which translates roughly to a 'statue radiating the pursuit of knowledge,' intended to represent the importance Tamil Nadu places on education. He noted that Marina, a coastal landmark frequented by children, students, youth, and tourists, already features statues of labourers, freedom fighters, and figures who contributed to Tamil literature and culture, and said the new addition complements this by specifically honouring educational aspiration. Stalin expressed happiness at unveiling the statue, saying that as long as Tamils hold firmly to education, the community will never fall behind.
