Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a series of completed civic facilities in North Chennai under the North Chennai Development Scheme, implemented through the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). These included Chief Minister's Urban Housing units, a marriage hall, a Corporation printing press, a sports ground, and a blood purification and rehabilitation centre on Wall Tax Road and Thanneer Thotti Street, along with an upgraded Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Park and pond in Perungalathur. He also laid foundation stones for new works, including community halls in Perambur Barracks Road, Vyasarpadi-Kakkan Nagar, and Thandaiyarpettai, a library and 'Mudhalvar Padaippagam' (Chief Minister's creative space) branch in Venkatapuram, and a new multipurpose centre within the Wall Tax Road CM housing complex. The event forms part of the broader North Chennai Development Scheme aimed at upgrading civic and social infrastructure in the historically less-developed northern parts of the city.
