Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin detailed a set of infrastructure milestones achieved in Chennai over five years of his government, describing it as growth equivalent to half a century compressed into five years under what he termed the 'Dravidian Model.' The figures cited include 36 bridges (19 completed and 17 under construction), 236 park development works, 1,442 kilometres of stormwater drains, Rs 533 crore spent on school infrastructure improvements, Rs 5,447 crore utilised for drinking water scheme works, and 3,455 kilometres of roads upgraded. He also referenced the North Chennai Development Scheme, valued at approximately Rs 7,000 crore, along with new Chief Minister's-branded public halls, sports grounds, marriage halls, bus stands, and low-floor electric buses introduced across the city. Stalin said the government intends to continue this pace of development, aiming to build a world-class infrastructure city by 2030 under what he called 'Singara Chennai 2.0.' The post is framed as a performance report rather than a new announcement.
