M.K. Stalin criticized the Union BJP Government over an LPG cylinder shortage, saying the Prime Minister's remarks invoking comparisons to the COVID period had worsened public panic, leading to restaurant closures and job losses. He accused the Union Government of using the delimitation issue to divert attention, and criticized the AIADMK for silence while questioning what the state government was doing, when cylinder supply and foreign policy fall under the Union Government's remit.

M.K. Stalin issued a statement criticizing the Union BJP Government's handling of a cooking-gas (LPG) shortage, saying that remarks by the Prime Minister comparing the situation to the COVID-19 period had deepened public panic among people already facing gas shortages. He said the resulting anxiety had forced many restaurants to shut down and left workers without jobs. Stalin alleged that the Union Government, which he said should be taking urgent corrective steps, was instead using the constituency delimitation issue to divert attention from the crisis. He further criticized the AIADMK for staying silent on the matter while questioning what the state government was doing, arguing that LPG cylinder supply and foreign policy are subjects under the Union Government's jurisdiction, not the state's. Stalin said the state government had taken all measures within its power and posed the question of what the Union BJP Government, which he said bears ultimate responsibility, was doing to resolve the crisis.
