Engaging with MSME foundry owners and precision engineering manufacturers in Coimbatore, M.K. Stalin addressed the critical challenges facing the Kongu industrial corridor. He outlined state procurement guarantees, raw pig iron price stabilization efforts, and the integration of local units into the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor.
Stalin noted that Coimbatore produces over fifty percent of India’s agricultural pumps and a vast share of precision engineering castings. By establishing a modern common facility center and offering green transition subsidies for foundry furnaces, the government helped MSMEs modernize without incurring crushing debts. Industrial associations praised Stalin for his hands-on, accessible approach to manufacturing challenges.
