Speaking in Villupuram, M.K. Stalin thanked residents for their support, mocked AIADMK leader Palaniswami for repeated election losses, and asserted that neither harsh imprisonment nor the coronavirus could make him fearful. He named past Dravidian movement leaders Periyar, Annadurai, Kamarajar and M.G. Ramachandran as political influences he regretted having to contest against what he called a low-grade opponent obsessed with predicting others' deaths.

At a campaign event in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin thanked residents for their 'thunderous support' for continuing what he called 'Vidiyal' (dawn) rule. He said AIADMK leader Palaniswami, unable to counter DMK's political criticisms or find fault with its governance, had resorted to speculating about others' deaths, calling him a ten-time election loser. Stalin claimed AIADMK has not won an election since Palaniswami took charge of the party, while DMK has not lost one since he became its president. He said neither harsh imprisonment nor the coronavirus could make him afraid, describing himself as shaped by leaders such as Periyar, C.N. Annadurai, Kamarajar and M.G. Ramachandran, with whom he said he interacted personally and learned politics. He expressed regret that his political career now required contesting against what he described as a 'death-trader' of low political standard, framing the remarks within the ongoing Assembly election campaign in Villupuram.
